MBABANE greatness! – Dubbed

The past three weeks have been explosive for local DJ, JayOnThaBass, as he shared the stage with Uncle Waffles, Busiswa and DBN Gogo.

Born Njabuliso Nxumalo, the Cyprus-based student is currently studying software engineering at Eastern Mediterranean University in North Cyprus.

The multi-instrumentalist has been booked alongside worldwide giants for different events in that country.

The biggest events management stable in Cyprus, M.C. Jerry Events and LaChronic Entertainment, planned an Amapiano showdown at La Nouba Kyrena and Nxumalo was included in the official line-up.

“I’ve always been eager to entertain people in a way that they’ll dance to the vibe I’m giving,” said Nxumalo when asked about the reason for choosing a career in the music industry.

La Nouba is known across the world as the one and only fully themed dance club in Cyprus. All their shows sell out within the first hour of release of tickets.

The rising star’s first moment of rubbing shoulders with big names was on June 19, when the events stable brought into the country internationally-celebrated superstar, Uncle Waffles.

This was the official ‘adoubement’ for JayOnThaBass, because the stars got bigger and his name kept appearing on more line-ups.

Uncle Waffle has dubbed thee Sir Nxumalo, to only go higher in the entertainment ladder.

Immediately after this explosive event, Nxumalo prepared for his next major show which was on the first of this month. The summer spectacular like no other featured the lady who needs no introduction, the queen of Gqom music, Busiswa.

The MC, Jerry and LaChronic stable kept the entertainment ball rolling with upcoming events including Durban-based Queen of Amapiano, DBN

Gogo. She’s been said to be a pioneer of a new era in the music industry and our very own met her, solidifying our talents’ worth.

The pair was literally hobnobbing with each other for the Amapiano Fest 2.0 which was last week Wednesday.

Promoters

Event’s organiser and MC Jerry, aka ‘Alibaba’ who is an MC and show promoter from Nigeria, but currently resides in Cyprus, got accolades as one of the top promoters in the entertainment space in that country.

‘Alibaba’ took a stance in wanting to solidify his new title and was

on stage and also given a chance to work with some of the country’s influential artists, to be nurtured to further develop their craft. Last Friday at Evelyn Baring High School, the foundation hosted an event where top local talents were featured including ‘Limuvalami’ hitmaker M. Nation, award-winning Hip Hop artist Mr Kangaroo, Mdura the comedian, author and motivational speaker, Bonkhe Shabangu and Hapkoo. “Our foundation is also working with Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) in raising awareness on gender based violence (GBV) in the Shiselweni Region,” further added Mkhaliphi.

He went on to share that their goals were to see a different breed of young people who would venture and dominate the entrepreneurship space and become job creators rather than job seekers. They want to work side-by-side with other young people, youth organisations, NGOs and government parastatals in ensuring this comes into fruition. He further said they also want to see more young people dominate the entertainment and arts industry not just locally but internationally, this will be made possible by creating more platforms like this one where they will come and showcase their talent to the world.

“We will ensure that they access the relevant skills to develop their carriers. We will also engage corporates and business people to fund the local arts industry and ensure that it becomes lucrative and rewarding. We want to create forums where young people can have robust debates and discussions on issues of unemployment, GBV and many other issues affecting young people,” said Mkhaliphi. determined in bringing only the best talent for his shows and Eswatini’s very own JayOn ThaBass being one of them. “My drive for quality and an exceptional nightlife excellence makes my brand unique and if I call out a name, know that they are that good,” said ‘Alibaba’.
