Mashampu warns against conflict in churches
MBABANE - The Attorney General, Sifiso Mashampu Khumalo, has warned brethren against the conflict in churches in a prayer service that was held at Ezulwini Royal Kraal on Sunday.
This was during a service where the residents of Ezulwini met and prayed together. Different people from various churches attended the prayer. Present were pastors and congregants from different churches in Ezulwini.
People from the different areas (tigcuma) around Ezulwini were then given good parcels to take home. Khumalo is the Governor of Ludzidzini. In an interview with Dlamini, a community police member from Somnjalose, he said they worked with community caregivers to identify destitute families.
“We were able to identify them through the help of the community caregivers who are from the communities and work closely with the people,” he said.
Teachings
Apostle Mboni Dladla from Word of Life Transformation Ministries, Ezulwini, centered his teachings on Jesus being the image of God. “God is the creator and the one who appoints people to sit at any rank,” he said.
Dladla further said God was the one who appoints pastors, chiefs and all leaders and it was important that people respected their leaders who have been placed in front of them. “God is the one who has the power to fix what is broken because he is the one who made everything,” he said.
Pastor Margaret Nkambule from Hope for All Christian Church, Mvutjini spoke mainly about acknowledging that there was only one moderator between men and God. “His name is Jesus and no other,” she said. She further said Jesus was the one who brought peace among people who did not see eye-to-eye and restore their sense of understanding. She also urged the congregants to seek the face of the Lord since all things were a result of locating his face.
Addressing the congregants, the chief commended the All Nations Choir, who entertained them during the prayer and requested that they take the arena again after his speech. He further thanked the people who attended the service.
Khumalo thanked the people who contributed the food parcels that were given to destitute families from the different areas. “We also thank the pastors who contributed because these are hard times,” He said. The chief assured that people would continue receiving help where possible.
The chief then warned attendants and pastors to refrain from conflict in the house of the Lord.
He further said this was not a good thing and described the church as a place of peace and harmony where people sought refuge.
Khumalo also said some solutions to the issue of youth unemployment and job creation were underway with the help of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). “There will be projects where young people will be given the opportunity to better their lives,” he said. The chief elaborated on a study that would be done where those who had completed high school would be identified and assisted.
In a later interview with Khumalo, he said this was one of the services that had the power to transform people. “We are seeing the difference and impact of the services, even the turn up of the youth was overwhelming today,” he said.
Khumalo said these were services that were always held at the royal kraal every year quarter where all churches came together and worshipped.
He further emphasised on the importance of prayer and said even the situation that the country was faced with could only be changed through prayer.
