New era of nation building

-

Madam,

Every one of us, at some point in life, will have an opportunity to move forward or to do something significant. Though all of us, one way or the other, are affected by our social and economic background, culture, our access to certain levels of education, family background and development, we can still change the course of our lives if we learn how to maximise the law of opportunity. In life there is always something we can do differently in order to move forward or change course.

In every circumstance there is usually a hidden seed of opportunity to move forward. Time and opportunity happen to all of us. Those who take advantage and seize opportunities are more likely to fulfil their destiny and dreams. Those who make the most of their opportunities are usually successful in life. Complaining, murmuring, jealousy, complacency and greed are enemies of opportunity because they distort reality and waste energy.

Opportunity is defined as ‘an appropriate or favourable time or occasion, a situation or condition favourable for attainment of a goal; a good chance or prospect for success’. Usually in order for opportunities to be maximised, it demands preparedness on our part because some great opportunities actually look like problems or crises. We must be prepared mentally, intellectually and emotionally to effectively step into an open door.

OPPORTUNITY

Every opportunity is pregnant with life changing encounters and potential. It is, therefore, imperative to realise that the road to destiny is sometimes filled with many curves and potholes of dark moments, and no one is exempted from such moments. Life is usually a combination of good and bad days, strength and weakness, victories and defeats, win and lose, give and take, plant and reap, and so forth. When trouble and problems arise, some people rise higher and become greater, while others sink deeper into different levels of depression, discouragement and hopelessness.

We all view problems and trials in different ways. Those who survive storms of life usually view problems as opportunities for change. Your tomorrow or future can easily be sabotaged if you fail to see opportunities in crises. Problems are actually trainers for decision making and opportunity taking. Many great opportunities are usually hidden in the dark clouds of crises. Only those who maintain spiritual and mentally stable during crises are able to see hidden opportunities in the chaos.

Every problem has an answer or solution. Just because we cannot articulate the solution right now, does not mean there is no answer to our situation. The challenges we have today as a nation must be used as an opportunity to correct past mistakes, align certain things and introduce a new era of nation building.
