EFA dissolves Vovovo, admits Nsingizini Hotspurs
Also given such approval was Shiselweni Super League side Shooting Stars. The super league outfit bought the first division status of Nsingizini Hotspurs and had applied to use their name as opposed to the latter’s name. To answer to the reported confusion that seemingly threatened the change being impossible ahead of the new season, the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) finally received correspondence approving the applications.
This publication in possession of both the letters by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) to the PLE affirming the news. Stars have successfully assumed Nsingizini’s first division status under their name, while Nsingizini takes over from Vovovo, essentially meaning the latter has ceased to exist as of this past Wednesday.
PLE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kenneth Makhanya confirmed receipt of both correspondences approving Shooting Stars and name change into the National First Division League, as well that of Nsingizini assuming the elite status from Vovovo.
“Vovovo FC has changed its name to Nsingizini Hotspurs FC in the premier league and Shooting Stars FC have been admitted to the NFD League,” Makhanya confirmed.
Nsingizini’s Marketing and Communications Director Mphikeleli Dlamini, who had no immediate update on the matter on Wednesday afternoon when questioned about it, was sought again over the latest developments.
“Yes, I can confirm that we have received acceptance into the elite league. Insingizi Yezulu has received approval,” he responded.
EFA Communications and Marketing Officer Muzi Radebe’s immediate comment was not ascertained but the local football mother body’s CEO Frederick Mngomezulu signed and stamped the letters to the PLE CEO.
