MBABANE – $ brewing war Things have turned for the worst at the 6waziland /iberation Movement 6:$/IMO camp, as the organisation suspended Chairman of the /ubombo District ([ecutive Committee D(C Mzwakhe Myeni.
Myeni is the second chairperson, after Manzini D(C¶s %rian 6ihlongonyane, to be suspended in the organisation within two weeks. 6ihlongonyane resigned a day after receiving his suspension letter from the 1ational ([ecutive Council 1(C .
Myeni was suspended by the organisation with immediate effect, pending a disciplinary hearing on allegations for dishonesty, forgery and falsification of information.
+e was slapped with si[ charges and a disciplinary hearing was set for tomorrow at pm. The hearing will be held virtually and Myeni was given the option of a legal representative.
$ccording to a 1otice of 6uspension circulated as an internal memo and seen by the Times 681D$<, Myeni was charged for sending a fraudulent letter to the 1(C purportedly written by himself and the two other district chairpersons to reinstate the resigned 6ihlongonyane.
FRAUDULENT
+owever, it was revealed that the other district chairpersons disassociated themselves from the correspondence, hence the belief that they were not the authentic co-authors of the alleged fraudulent letter.
Myeni was further charged for working outside his scope and for bringing the organisation into disrepute by falsifying the letter without consultation with the e[ecutive he was leading, as per the organisational governance procedures of the movement.
The suspension letter also outlines conditions for his suspension, stipulating that he should refrain from interfering with potential witnesses and to refrain from participating on leaders¶ groups to avoid contradictions during hearing.
³The leadership of the movement has noted with grave concern your engagement in disruptive activities which are laced with traits of ill-discipline. The activities you have been engaged in are at best calculated to undermine processes and procedures initiated by the leadership.
³6uch activities, if not attended to at this early stage, carry the potential to harm the good name and image of the movement internally and e[ternally. In light of serious allegations that have surfaced against you, the peculiar conduct that you have been e[hibiting and a serious deterioration of discipline on your part, the movement decided to do a preliminary investigation of the state of affairs surrounding all these issues.
³$n e[amination of this investigation report has established that on the face of it, you have a number of issues to answer to and hopefully e[onerate yourself. $s a precautionary measure, you are hereby notified of your suspension from all your duties within the movement with immediate effect pending disciplinary proceedings against you,´ reads the letter.
SUSPENSION
Myeni was further advised that during the suspension, he was not e[pected to participate in any activities of the movement in any capacity and to desist from communicating material that is intended to incite, coerce or influence any member of the movement against any procedures initiated by any structure of the movement.
+e was also advised not to interfere with any processes and procedures initiated by the movement or interfere with potential witnesses, engage members of the movement on any issues whatsoever, including electronic communication and social media.
Myeni was further asked to surrender all property and access codes including the rights of administration in any of the movement¶s means of communication to Mzwandile Dlamini.
³ ³6hould you not present yourself at the hearing without a valid reason and prior arrangement, it shall proceed in your absence and you are warned that the charges against you are serious and may lead to adverse findings against you.
