Hypothetically speaking

+ypothetically speaking, the youth should be the driver of transformational change in a society. But what happens when the youth sleeps" ,n the Eswatini conte[t, the youth constitutes the vast maMority of the entire population, which gives them the power of influence.

Even though they have been abandoned in the corridors of power, there have been no clear indications that they are prepared to lead or be led. They say a fruit does not fall far from the tree, their inability to either identify or support competent leaders is a true reflection of their mediocre standard and incompetence as a group known as µthe youth¶.

They are constantly being marginalised and defaced by the ones we call µelders¶ because of their continuous unwillingness to e[ecute responsibilities that improve their lives. The baton has been passed to them youth without knowing, but they choose to play their part by ruining society by their actions and inactions.

Some will ask; how do we build when there is no design" Sadly they have been taught by religion that when faced with a problem, they should either wait for God or leave it to Jesus. 2f course we are a praying nation, but don¶t forget that we have a failing system as well.

TALENT

There is nothing wrong with praying, but there is everything wrong with relying on prayer to achieve our desires, including those that God has given us like brains and talent to use.

:e cannot pray into e[istence the production of mai]e, beans, rice etc. God gave us a brain, we should use it wisely.

To be honest, the present day youths are yet to display any sign that they are indeed different from the old folk we presently have as leaders.

The youth need to change their story; they need to know that the bad things they are doing, they are doing to themselves.

They act like people without responsibility when the future of the nation is in their hands.

:e blame leaders and the leaders blame past governments while the leadership recycle continues and there seems to be no end in sight.

As products of our environment, the seed of ignorance was long planted in us and is starting to bear fruits. ,t is important we reduce our distractions, unlearn that which was taught by the harsh circumstances, develop self by acTuiring needed skills, redesign your future and build Eswatini.

8ntil then the mass e[odus of our youths will continue and even our remaining children will be made mental slaves.
