Vusi Gama bags UGI LOL
MBABANE – Vusi Gama succeeded over Welcome Mhlanga as this week’s champion of the United General Insurance-sponsored Leg of Lamb Golf Tournament. The competition was held this past Friday at the Ezulwini Golf and Country Club. With only a count back difference standing between him and the champion, Sive Dlamini landed in position two after scoring 23 points and Paul Fortune was two points shy of the runner-up as he finished his nine-hole golf format play with 21 points.
Professional golfer Raymond Mathonsi had a tough course as he managed to settle for position four and collected a total of 20 points c/b and Phumlani Mbatha made the cut to the top five with 20 points.
The longest drive winner on hole number seven was Ricco Motsa, while King Liu was nearest to pin hole number six. Congratulating the winners and all the golfers who attended, UGI Operations Manager Patrick Gamedze said having a new winner each week represented the intensity of the competition.
“We had an interesting tournament and had a new winner which shows the level of competition. We are happy with the partnership that we have with Ezulwini Golf and Country Club who always maintain a good course for the golfers and we wish to continue with this relationship. Thank you also to the Sport Shop staff for their hospitality,” Gamedze said.
