upcoming ‘ nd 6es’khona )ilm )estival competitio­n’ to be held late 'ecember this year.

This attachment forms part of phase one filming towards the 6es’khona )ilm )estival competi tion, phase two of pre production be gins immediatel­y upon their return, and filming will be done within the regions, which includes training of actors and fund raising.

Experience

The team is expected to comeback with experience and apply that in the four regions of the kingdom, and share their new found knowledge with practition­ers in those regions.

8nlike in the previous year, the festival will not Must focus on indi vidual production, but each region will produce one film and film practi tioners from these regions have been identified to be part of it.

This year’s film festival is set to have mini festivals in each region prior to the main one at E]ulwini. Each region’s film will be showcased at a central town and the community is expected to support their own. This is to announce their visibility as film practition­ers in their own hometowns.

:hen reached for comment, one of the members attending the attach ment, 6onnyboy 0avuso, said he was grateful for the opportunit­y to be part of the production. ³, have always wished to go out there and learn more about filming. This is my chance hopefully ,’ll get the experi ence , need the most,´ 0avuso said.

6iyabonga 1kambule also ex pressed his excitement to be part of the members attending the produc tion in 6$.

³,’m so humbled and honoured to be part of the team going to one of the best production studios in 6$. , hope to learn more on directing, production behaviour and discipline and also teamwork,´ 1kambule said.

The 3ublic 5elations 2fficer for E1)TV$, =akhele 0abu]a, who is also part of the five members attend ing the attachment, revealed more about the aim of the trip.

³&urrently the film festival is funded by the &ouncil of $rts and &ulture and E1)TV$, we are grateful for such support but still looking forward to more support, especially from the corporate sec tor and 1*2s who scripts can be shared and product placements be made.

³The production­s will strictly be about drama stories based on society or community stories with film and TV proving to easily send message or informatio­n across,´ 0abu]a said.
