M– A karate instructor at Mndobandoba, Big Bend has found himself in an indefensible position where his sporting skills will not save him.

The karate instructor, whose name is known but will not be named to protect the minor, is accused of having lured and stayed with a minor for seven days over the schools holidays.

The minor *Nontobeko Dladla is a 17-year-old pupil who is a Form I at Big Bend High School. Nontobeko’s parents were so furious over her week-long absence from home that they refused to accept her back home when she returned without undergoing a pregnancy test.

Eswatini News confirmed her absence at Big Bend High School where she was said to be part of the number of pupils who did not return after the recent school break that ended last week.

Sources alleged that her father gave her and the instructor an ultimatum for her to return home. It was disclosed that he ordered them to go to the local clinic so that she can undergo a pregnancy test procedure to confirm if she was not pregnant.

of health.

“I refused to allow them the leeway to act as if all was normal, I do not want to be left with a burden of raising my child with a baby as well,” said the girl’s father.

He disclosed that he was a retired seasonal worker who had little means to take care of even his own children.

Dladla said he had been supportive towards his daughter who enjoyed karate classes at school. He said he saw nothing wrong with having her enjoy this extra-curricular activity.

Dladla said he was aware that his daughter would attend extra classes for her favourite sport, karate.

He further disclosed that Nontobeko was no longer seen at home, after she started to complain of not feeling well when she had to prepare to attend the Reed Dance Ceremony (Umhlanga) at Ludzidzini. “I had already prepared a traditional regalia for her to join other local girls at the reed dance, but she started making excuses of not feeling well,” said Dladla. He said the first to notice his daughter’s absence was his wife, who informed him that Nontobeko

– Thousands of emaSwati are said to have been part of over 250 000 people who have been duped over E9.5 billion in another crypto-currency scam ran by a Ugandan national.

According to some of the victims who alleged that they have been defrauded by the Ugandan national, Ssemakula Peter Luyima, currently residing in Lesotho, disclosed that they believed at the idea of investing in the crypto-currency under the trading name, LaToken when the idea was initially sold to them by some of emaSwati.

According to the value of the amounts invested by the unsuspecting members, their investments were valued at E9.5 billion.

The alleged victims in an interview with Eswatini News revealed that Luyima once resided in Eswatini in the past 10 years, where he sold this idea of investing in the LaToken crypto-currency platform where he promised huge returns to the traders.

It has been reliably gathered that thousands of EmaSwati bought the idea of investing in the trading platform and ploughed their life savings ranging from E10 000 up to E50 000, hoping to get rich quick as they were promised that they would receive a windfall of profits depending on the value of the LaToken Coin.

had not been seen at home.

“I started to make enquiries about her whereabouts from her siblings only to learn that it was not the first time she disappeared from home,” said Dladla.

He said her siblings revealed that Nontobeko would sometimes disappear at night especially when they had to attend devotion classes in church. “I was shocked to learn of her escapades with the man have been ongoing for months,” said Dladla.

It is said that pensioners and some civil servants registered and deposited their hard-earned monies into this trading platform without cross-checking if really this was not another crypto-currency scam.

RewaRded

The founder of the crypto-currency trading platform, it seems, was able to cast any doubt as those who joined first, were rewarded with sums amounting to E60 000 each.

However, it cannot be immediately ascertained as to how many received this amount, but the beneficiaries became ambassadors of the trading platform as they had undoubtedly proof that the platform was indeed a dream come true.

“How would I have believed that this platform was a scam as these people showed us bank accounts in contacts messages where it proved that they were swimming in cash. We couldn’t resist such appetising investment opportunity and we joined in numbers, some putting as much as E50 000 anticipating huge returns,” said one liSwati who preferred to remain anonymous.

Information gathered is that the numbers began to accumulate but the chief (SWANCEFA) National Executive Director Nelisiwe Nhlabatsi said the whole scenario was strange.

She said the girl’s parents have to allow the girl back home for safety but escalate the matter with law enforcement.

She said the parents have to exercise their duty and responsibility to protect the child from harm as per the Children’s Protection and Welfare Act, 2012.

“The police and Social Welfare Department must be involved to assist establish where the child was and with whom since it is a crime to stay with a child below 18 years without the parents’ permission,” said Nhlabatsi.

She further said in her view this was a case of abduction.

PRegnant

She said, therefore, who ever kept the child had to account because apart from being pregnant the girl might have been exposed to a lot of harm. The karate instructor confirmed that Nontobeko was currently staying with him as the parents refused to allow her back home.

Meanwhile, he insisted that the pupil was not pregnant without substantiating that as a matter of fact.

When questioned why she (Nontobeko) was not in class since schools reopened, the instructor disclosed that her father refused to accept her back and all her uniforms and other school accessories were at home. “I’ve tried everything even her uniforms and other belongings are at home,” disclosed the karate instructor.

The karate instructor further confirmed to the Eswatini News that her parents demanded that she undergoes a pregnancy test for her to be accepted back home.

However, when pressed further on why he was with a minor for at his residence for over seven days, he did not respond.

executive officer (CEO) of the trading platform then moved to Lesotho but promised that the whole business would be done through the social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook.

However, according to the local emaSwati, it has been over five years now and the members in the trading platform have not received anything as returns to their investment.

Infact, the CEO, it has been alleged, has been promising for all this time that the over 250 000 members all across the world would receive their harvest in the trading platform but to no avail.

QuestionnaiRe

In one of the WhatsApp groups, the local members wrote a questionnaire to the CEO demanding answers on their much awaited harvest in the trading platform.

The letter seen by Eswatini News to the CEO reads; can you answer the following questions:

1. Why do I have to fill in the Google as a Weowns holder because my tokens are there on LaToken that is proof enough of how many coins did I have before 1:18 000 conversion?

2. Where is the list of people who staked US$10 that never received their 2 000 weowns, we want to verify our names.

3. What do you mean when you say if you staked US$20 you will receive five new weowns, whereas you said last week those who staked US$10 will receive 10 new weowns, please clarify.

4. You waited all these weeks during the swap, now that you are expected to deliver, you coming up with Google form story. Why are you doing that?

“This is really frustrating, can you just
