All roads lead to Mhlatane High School Hall, in Pigg’s Peak tomorrow for the eagerly-awaited Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) elective congress. In race for the chairmanship hot seat are the Shongwes in Nigel and Comfort. The former is the incumbent while the latter also has a history of leading the association. These are no ordinary candidates but heavyweights in football circles.
For Secretary Nkosingiphile Shongwe, he will have a peaceful night leading to the elections, as he has now been nominated unopposed. Tsine we’re just relieved that the dust has settled leading to the polls since bekune buwishiwishi.
Initially, some teams felt that having the executive in office beyond the usual July 31 deadline was improper, but it finally became clear that the disruptions caused by COVID-19 affected the football calendar.
