... into IBA Diversity Committee

M– In what will sound as sweet melody to not only the boxing community but Eswatini as a whole, Pearl Dlamini has scooped another big post.

This comes after her historic election into the International Boxing Association (IBA) independent Board of Directors (BoD) in Istanbul, Turkey in May this year.

The IBA President, Umar Kremlev, who said this was the ‘year of Africa’, tasked Dlamini to come up with that masterstroke proposal for taking boxing to another level in Africa.

Elected

The former Eswatini Boxing Association (EBA) President and New Boys Boxing Club Director, as well as Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) Board member, is one of the 10 elected Board of Directors for the IBA.

Dlamini has taken yet another huge stride in her, after she was selected as chairperson of the Diversity Committee in the IBA Board yesterday in Armenia. Narrating how she got to be selected, she said: “The President,

Kremlev felt we should have a committee that will overlook other committees in order to develop the sport. He then proposed that I head the Diversity Committee, which was formerly known as the Women Committee. As chairperson, I will then facilitate in overseeing the election of committee members of the Diversity Committee,” Dlamini said.

Honoured

She then shared how honoured she was to be recognised once again by the president.

“This is huge for me and I want to thank the president and those close to him for seeing that I would be fit to head the Diversity Committee,” said Dlamini.

Forming part of the committee were Tadang Minu of India, Zoubid Wissam of Moroccan and Australian‘s Kristy Harris.
