Boyfriend caught in Buhleni after tip-off

-

PIGG’S PEAK – Swift action by the police resulted in Jomo being caught before he could go very far. It is alleged he was found in Buhleni, where he allegedly asked some people for money. It was alleged that he asked for money so that he could get on the public transport to go further away. At the time, news had already spread that he was a wanted person.

Police officers from Pigg’s Peak had already been informed that Jomo was on the run and that he may have fled to Buhleni. They also informed their colleagues around Buhleni. It was for this reason that when some of the members of the public saw him asking around for money, they allegedly tipped the police off. The police officers at Buhleni then swiftly apprehended him and informed their Pigg’s Peak counterparts that he had been caught.

DETAINED

While Jomo was detained at Buhleni, Jackie had not yet reported the matter to the police.

At the time, fire emergency personnel were also looking for her so that they could write a report on what had been damaged in the fire. Her mother was however present and she revealed that her daughter was on her way to the police to report the incident. “I will also go and report the mater because this is my house,” she said.

She said she was concerned that if she and her daughter did not report the incident formally to the police, the Buhleni police officers would have no reason to continue detaining Jomo.

Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Chief Police Information and Communications Officer confirmed the incident. “The guy has been arrested,” she stated.
