‘Lelo’ sheds 12kg, chases muscle gain

M– After successful­ly losing 12 kilogramme­s in body weight, Nontethele­lo, Simelane also known as ‘Lelo’ has shifted her focus to building visible muscles.

They say if you want different results, then you need to apply a different technique and that is exactly what Lelo did.

She intensifie­d her training and shifted her focus from going to the gym for leisure to going for weight loss.

Let’s welcome her as she shares her past experience­s and future goals in health and fitness lifestyle.

When did you start focused training and what was the motivation behind?

“I started in 2015 but I was not serious and eating anyhow. Then in June 2019, I started focused training. The motivation behind It simply; I love fitness.”

How has your body transforme­d since 2019?

“I used to be a bit heavy as I was 80kg. Now I’m 68kg, having

Can you highlight the kind AFTER: Two years later, she has toned her arms, belly and already starting to see muscle gain on her thighs. She is now down to 68kg after losing 12kg.

to stay focused.

“My main challenge is that sometimes I become lazy, but asking myself why I started training helped me to stay focused. I push myself to get up every day and my coach also keeps motivating me. Having a partner and family is another challenge because you need to balance your time between gym and family.”

My training routine depends on my Coach Sipho Langa, at The Active Matrix Manzini, where I train right now.”

“My goal is to have muscles, be fit and healthy with a target weight of 75kg or more.”

What nutritiona­l changes have you made as you chase muscle gain?

“I have cut out eating fast foods, fatty foods, fizzy drinks and sugar. I eat clean always.”

Which slogan keeps you going?

“My slogan is: ‘Still we rise till the end of the last mile.”

What advice can you share with people with regards to maintainin­g a healthy active lifestyle?

“You write your own fitness journey, so go at your own pace, build a relationsh­ip with food and remember that every day offers you a chance to do better than yesterday. You won’t always feel motivated but you will always feel unstoppabl­e after every workout. Smash those goals that you set out for yourself. Remember, you are what you eat.”
