LOBAMBA – Tambuti stand-in coach Mlamuli ‘Sputla’ Zwane aims for a respectable finish with the Lubombo-based side.

Zwane made these comments after seeing his side play to a 1-all draw against Moneni Pirates, during a MTN Premier League played at Somhlolo National Stadium two days ago. ‘Sputla’was standing in for Clement ‘King Clay’ Dlamini who is reportedly with the national Under-23 squad. ‘Sputla’ was part of the sugar belt side technical bench even last season and steered the outfit out of the relegation murky waters.

“I’m happy with the draw; it’s a first game of the season, so we can take the point home. We played well in the first half and we managed to get that goal. We played as a unity and we were not bad at all except that we were caught ball watching sometimes,” said Zwane.

He said he liked how the team built up from the back to attack their opponents.

“I can see progress although it is too early to say; the team played fairly well. We have been given the mandate to finish inside the top six,” said the coach.

Tight

Meanwhile,Pirates Coach Coaster Magongo said it was a tight game which could have gone either way.

“Despite starting slow, we managed to come from behind and there were chances which we created but missed. Our assignment which we have been given by the management is to stay away from relegation. We do not want a repeat of what happened last season when the team almost got relegated,” said Magongo.

Asked if they did not miss experienced players like Menzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane and national team player in Mpendulo Tfomo, he responded to the negative.
