Correctional for Zone VI Champs ’‘
MBABANE – Correctional has achieved a milestone in the Select Limited VA Cup, as both their teams have reached the finals.
Both Correctional male and ladies teams will play the Select Limited VA Cup finals, on top of qualifying to represent the country in the Zone VI Regional Championships games to be played in Namibia in December this year.
Correctional males will play Bob Cats in finals while the ladies team has a date with Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) in finals to be played at Mavuso on October 15 (next Saturday).
Correctional Coach Mbuso ‘Phamphetha’ Vilakati said this was a hardearned achievement, attributing it to good game preparations.
Motivate
“It’s challenge to motivate players that have been playing in the finals and mostly winning them since 2015. It becomes a challenge to prepare them physically and mentally to adapt to the new challenge of their opponents, as they are preoccupied by the winning mentality,” Vilakati said.
The nugget of success for this dominant Correctional side seems to be the dedication of players, with the girls not even pushed hard at training according to the coach. The coach also highlighted that they also derived inspiration from their management’s support.
MBABANE – Zone VI Championships envoys Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) will focus on getting exposure ahead of the games to be played in December.
The games will be played in Namibia and REPS will represent the country under the ladies section. REPS Coach Wandile Sithole stressed on the need to begin preparations early.
Friendly
“We need to play international friendly games, so we are able to improve and adopt a different playing style. As we would be playing with a regional team, we need to boost our experience in order to match them pound-for-pound and represent the country well,” Sithole said.
This will be REPS’ maiden participation in the Zone VI games.
