Dale prevails in Mashayinko­njane Monthly Mug

MBABANE - He was just a cut above the rest.

That was Dale Masilela who was the winner of the Mashayinko­njane Monthly Mug which was played at Manzini Golf Course this past Saturday. He carded a gross score of 77 to win the monthly tournament. This was Masilela’s debut in the competitio­n.

The September winner of the Mashayinko­njane Butchery-sponsored tournament was Clement Dlamini.

Shinning in the net category was Dumsani Hlatshwayo who carded net 69.

Coming second was Richard Dlamini who had a gross score of 73, while Albert Mavuso carded a gross of 73 with Eerfaan Dada coming fourth with gross 74.

Robert Mgcinah, Sifiso Zubuko and Willie Stuart all carded a gross of 75 while Manzini Golf Club Captain Wakie Lawrence was also among the top 10 with a gross of 76.

Shining among the juniors was Naye Mkhaliphi who scored a gross of 76 and the latter was closely followed by Sibusiso Maphalala. The latter was on gross 85.

The longest drive award went to Lawrence, while Dada took home the nearest pin 3/12. Hlatshwayo won the nearest pin for two 8/17.

“The competitio­n was played by 34 amateurs golfers including two golfers from our sister club Mbabane; two profession­al golfers, six juniors and one female golfer,” said the club captain.
