Zambian army officers in Eswatini on educational tour
MBABANE–Zambian Defence Services Command and Staff College Officers are currently in the country on their educational tour.
This was revealed by the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) Public Affairs Officer 2nd Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo in a statement released yesterday.
Khumalo stated that the Zambian Army College was undertaking regional study tours to various countries in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Region and Eswatini was among the chosen States.
She said the Zambian officials arrived on October 1, 2022 and they are expected to depart anytime this week.
Khumalo stated that the command and staff college had joined quite a long list of other SADC countries which managed to tour the kingdom on the same basis this year.
Enlightened
She added that during the duration of the tour, the visitors would be enlightened more on military structures in the country, economic infrastructure, including mainstay industries and cultural sites.
Khumalo said in addition, the visitors would also be learning in-depth about social amenities for the citizens as provided by government on guided tours and briefings by the Ministry of Defence and National Security and other ministries.
“This is a key opportunity for the UEDF, to showcase mostly the kingdom’s different cultural practices to the SADC Region as a whole, as the college hosts officers from different countries of the African continent,” said Khumalo.
She said the UEDF continued to strengthen its collaborative endeavours with other militaries, not only within the SADC Region but to the rest of the African continent and beyond.
