MBABANE - Mangololo suspects that students at the tertiary institutions are a great deal misled by regime change pushers, who are already qualified and possess certificates from the same institutions.

Mangololo Eswatini Chairperson Pastor Phetsa Dlamini said as a movement, they acknowledged that government may sometimes fall short on certain aspects where priorities were concerned.

He said one may find that government had not honoured her pledge of paying student allowances on time and that alone may cause unwarranted mayhem.

However, he stated that for students resorting to vandalising structures and boycott classes was an extreme act that caused more harm than repair.

“Imagine when students don’t graduate year in year out. Who is getting affected?” asked Dlamini.

The chairperson added that the problem faced by Tinkhundla System of government was probably precipitated by the fact that the country inherited a western style of education, which was introduced and designed to provide an education for the European children not emaSwati during the British colony, which they modelled to segregate an education system developed in the Transvaal Province in South Africa, hence the universities were victims of vandalism by unsuspecting students.

He said if such intolerance by students persisted at the tertiary institutions, the situation may lead the very same students to abject poverty in the near future, as major causes of poverty were normally a resultant of violent, boycotting classes, destroying property which lead to poor educational opportunities.
