MBABANE- Political activist Mphandlana Shongwe says an immediate dialogue is the only solution to the current ongoing killings in Eswatini.

He was speaking after this publicatio­n asked him about the possible way out of the current situation in the country, of high violence associated with the killing of State security personnel in particular. Shongwe said the nation must work hard to stop the killings, which had resulted in an increase in orphans and widows.

“We must stop the killings. This can be achieved by silencing the guns.

Pretend

“We cannot pretend as if everything is still normal when there is so much shedding of blood.

“The solution to this problem is having a dialogue as soon as possible,” said Shongwe.

He said it was high time the King convened a dialogue, which was long overdue. He said government was aware of the people who were supposed be partake in the anticipate­d dialogue.

“The King must stand up and call for dialogue, which most of emaSwati have been longing for, as soon as possible. Government knows the kind of people who are expected to be part of the dialogue,” said Shongwe.

Violence

He further said the time to wait for violence to subsidise in the country was over as that would mean an increase in the killings of innocent souls. He said emaSwati were closely related and intertwine­d and seeing each other being killed affected most people, no matter the kind of sectors they were being found at.
