National stars quit Pool League
MBABANE – Eswatini Ladies Pool National Team Captain Ncobile Dlamini has stopped competing in the ECSA Ladies Pool League.
She is not alone as yet another teammate in the squad, Nandipha Mkhwanazi also had to leave the league midway through. At least 10 games have been played by the active players of the initial 14-player league. ECSA means Eswatini Cue Sports Association.
“She cited transport challenges and that she was spending most of her time is South Africa (SA) ,where she also plays the game,” ECSA Secretary Mbongeni ‘Mdlikiza’ Gamedze confirmed when he was asked about the player.

It was gathered later on that Dlamini was joined by Mkhwanazi and the reasons are almost similar. They both spend most of their time away from Eswatini which halted some fixtures in the league.
“My problem is that I now spend most of my time in Johannesburg and that delays the games. Even when I’m in Eswatini, I also stay too far so the transport fee is too much for me yet I don’t have a sponsor backing me up,” Dlamini said while confirming that she was playing pool even when not home.
Her national teammate, Mkhwanazi said it would not make any sense for her to want to stay in the league when she had relocated to SA.
“It was for the good of the games for me to stop playing the fixtures,” Mkhwanazi said.
However, she said her sharpness was not affected as she was getting game time and empowering herself with more experience on the table.
Meanwhile, the league last played mid this month and fixtures had not proceeded since then.
National team star Angel Mabasa is at the summit with 25 points, three points in front of her closest rivals.
