On Thursday October 27, 2022, as usual, I bought your widely read newspaper and read an article that really touched my soul. I have always heard and read of many road accidents whereby out-ofcontrol vehicles knocked down pedestrians on the roadside. In fact, some of my friends have been victims.

Project

When I read that Eswatini Beverages had funded a project to construct traffic bollards along Ludvonga Street, I was happy. For this project, the company has further partnered with the Matsapha Town Council, Road Safety Council of and collaboration. It makes it easier for citizens to hold public officials accountable and brings on board more resources by enabling collaboration between government and local community groups. This all-of-society approach has been instrumental in bringing murder rates in some countries. Ultimately, it’s not the route but the outcome that people care about.

Future

They want to know there is a future for themselves and their children where they live. In the country we need a system that will reduce poverty, improve

Eswatini and the Royal Eswatini Police Service. With such a partnership, the project will be a resounding success.

Completed

What made me happier was that the company’s Country Director, Mpho Maloke, announced that the project would be completed before December this year.

That means, among other things, our fellow people walking along that street would be safe from vehicles very soon.

It is very disheartening to lose a relative or friend after being knocked down by a vehicle. It is even worse if that person was walking along a place designated for pedestrians. I would like to express

Cassa my sincere appreciation to Eswatini Beverages for considering the safety of our people. This really shows that the company cares about the community it operates within. I am a staunch supporter of this company as I consume some of its products. I urge people to support this gracious company by buying its products and consume these responsibly.

A company that ploughs back to the community definitely deserves support.

I would also like to implore other companies to follow suit and contribute towards the welfare of the communities they operate in.
