Bragging rights at stake in hub derby
TODAY D. SUNDOWNS VS MANZINI SEA BIRDS AT KALANGA TECHNICAL CENTRE, 3PM
MBABANE – Denver Sundowns and Manzini Sea Birds will be battling for the three points, with the bragging rights also at stake in the MTN Premier League mini hub derby. The two sides come to this game having failed to collect the maximum three points in their previous games against Mbabane Highlanders and Tambankulu Callies respectively. Basop iKappa Kappa, as Denver Dundowns are also fondly known, will be hoping that their strikers led by Mike Dombo bring with them their scoring boots after they failed to find the back of the net in the their last game against Highlanders
which ended goalless.
They will be facing Izinyoni Zolwandle, a high scoring side which has scored seven goals in four games alongside top of the log Young Buffaloes and rookies Madlenya. The two Manzini-based teams hopefully have worked on their defence as they both have allowed five goals behind them in the past four games.

Sundowns will be banking on the experience of returnee defender Jimoh Moses to shut the back door, while Sea Birds will have to look up to former Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows defender Ndumiso ‘Tower’ Ndaba to thwart any form of attack by Sundowns. The Kappa boys are facing a side that has not tasted defeat as yet in the league except for the narrow 2-1 defeat by Sea Birds in the MoMo Cup play-offs semi-finals.
They played a good game against Sea Birds and owned the second half, but were unfortunate to lose at the death as Sea Birds scored the in stoppage time. It is an opportunity to avenge the painful defeat for Sundowns who have some brilliant young players with a bit of experience to guide them. Can Sundowns cut short Sea Birds’ unbeaten run in the league? It will all be decided this afternoon when the two walk onto the field of play at KaLanga.
