MISS CULTURE LINDELWA MAZIYA

-

MCulture, the queen herself was the first to relay her experience on the event as well as what she plans to do while occupying the throne. As a first question she was probed on how she prepared for the event, she had this to say; ‘well, I prepared myself for the competition by rehearsing every day in front of my friends. I prayed to God every day. I was nervous when I joined Miss Cultural Heritage because I knew I had to compete with other young girls and competitions are never easy. During the crowning bengitfukile, like I couldn’t believe the day has really come, I didn’t know how I was going to handle disappointment if I don’t win however after the revelation of the Top 8 I was ready for both results.”

She went on to reveal her excitement after being crowned Miss Culture, as well as her intentions in honouring her crown. “I felt so happy, proud, honoured and very humbled to win such a prestigious title. Culture is very beautiful, thus it must be preserved, as Miss Cultural Heritage, I want to start an event which will celebrate and teach our people about our culture and also encourage them to love, respect and have pride in our culture. As a young girl who has experience of wanting to achieve great things in life, I would love to start a girl child movement, which will ensure that all girls in the country get the support they need, such as financial support, mental support and physical support, ensuring that they are protected and are taught the basic skills of life, which in my thinking are love and respect. Winning means that I am strong, I am brave and I am a leader,” said the queen.

Maziya went out of her own league to extend some words of wisdom to her colleagues who were also part of the competition. She thanked them for being brave and having confidence, while perusing the title. “I would like to thank them all for being brave enough to take up such a challenge and for being the beautiful people that they are. They are all amazing and knowing them was wonderful. You are all my queens and this is not the end of the road and everything happens for a reason, keep on shining,” she said.

to charm.

Also it’s the fact that things have changed and proposing is now online, whereby we’ve lost confidence and patience when it comes to convincing for love.

I decided to name the song ‘Zumbu’ because it has that element of being catchy, that the song is not only about love but it’s about trying to get love, proposing precisely. Also it’s because ‘Zumbu’ was the main word that was used when proposing.
