Parkrun champion unhappy with win
MBABANE – Mbabane Park runner Sibusiso Shabangu was not happy to be the first runner home in the 192nd run held yesterday at Mbabane Golf Club.
Shabangu beat Swazi Slojos top runner Mduduzi Dlamini, who has stamped his authority in the Mbabane Parkrun in recent times, taking the number one spot. Dlamini came fifth after he arrived late for the event and this did not seem fair to the winner yesterday. Shabangu completed the course in a time of 17:46 minutes, second home was veteran runner Mfanukhona ‘Mahlomb’eluhlanya’ Mhlanga in a time of 18:07 minutes.
On the third was Ntando Malinga, who clocked 19:01minutes and completing the top four was Sonkhe Malinga in a time of 19:09 minutes. “I am not at all happy because he arrived late; I wanted to start the race with him so that we could compete well for the number one spot. I can’t, therefore, say this is one of my best achievements here,” Shabangu said.
