We’ll beat Buffs, G. Mamba this time - Ally

-

MBABANE – Capital City giants Mbabane Highlanders have prepared for Sunday’s crunch MTN Premier League clash with leaders Young Buffaloes in Pretoria, South Africa (SA).

They are renowned to have international camps in Pretoria whenever they have a big fixture ahead of them and Buffaloes, who they played a fortnight ago in their first round encounter which ended goalless at Mavuso Sports Centre, is one of those. Highlanders missed out on the first round ‘carrot’ of E100 000, which Buffaloes won by virtue of finishing at the summit. The army team played Seven Dreams in their last first round match last Saturday and won 3-0 to finish five points ahead of Highlanders, who were third in the standings before the Mbabane Swallows and Tambuti game on Thursday. However, they dropped to fourth after Swallows won, which puts pressure on them to win to retain the third spot and reduce the five-point deficit between them and buffaloes to two points today.

“The team is here and as we speak they’re hard at work here. I like the facilities here and it will help us even when we qualify for CAF and get drawn against SA teams. We’re ready for Buffaloes and looking forward to a great game with them again. It’s a tough one but let them come, we’re ready and we’ll beat them on Sunday (today), If we can’t beat them then they’re not winning as well,” Highlanders South African Managing Director (MD) Chief Ally Kgomongwe responded on Thursday, when asked if the team was camped in Pretoria and about their readiness for the Buffaloes match.

CLASH

He said they should have beaten Buffaloes in the first round clash but it did not happen and tomorrow presented them with another go at the army team.

“While we’re ready for Buffaloes, we lost to Green Mamba who I want to declare owe us. They owe us for that defeat. We loaned them the three points and three goals but we’re out to recover that in second round,” Kgomongwe said.

He also expressed confidence about his new Coach Solly Luvhengo who was in charge officially against Royal Leopard and he led the team to a 3-2 win, breaking an over threeyear-old jinx as Highlanders had not been successful in winning against the police side.
