BC Motsa Foundation’s
E45K for Timphisini League
MBABANE – Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) keeps securing sponsors after they attracted BC Motsa Foundation to the Timphisini Regional Football League.
It was on Sunday at Lutheran Farmers Training Centre (LFTC) that the one-year marriage between BC Motsa Foundation and Timphisini League was officially sealed by the foundation’s Founder Banele Motsa in the presence of HRFA executive led by Chairman Comfort Shongwe as well as teams’ representatives from the area. The Foundation splashed E45 000, which will go towards the league and a knockout tournament to be played during the Easter holidays.
Timphisini Regional Football League has 28 teams from two divisions. They have endured the pain of playing without a sponsor for at least two seasons.
Channelled
The league was given a share of E30 000, while the E15 000 was channelled towards the knockout competition.
“It’s done out of passion as I’m also a sports person. I just did this so to keep the youth busy and away from committing criminal activities, as you may recall that most of the youth is languishing unemployed in our communities,” said Motsa, who is also a known businessman in the area.
He further mentioned that anything was possible along the way, in terms of the renewal of the sponsorship for next season. Meanwhile, Timphisini Regional Football League Chairman Johannes Mavimbela, extended his appreciation to the foundation, saying it would go a long way in reviving the hype of the league after this two-year sponsorship drought. Mavimbela said at least teams would now play motivated while also praising them for staying calm as they were working around the clock to get them a sponsor. He then encouraged teams to ensure a violence-free tournament.
