Buffs out to redeem themselves

- D. Sundowns vs Young Buffaloes at Mavuso Sports Centre 4pm

MBABANE – Denver Sundowns and Young Buffaloes will be battling for the three points in what promises to be a thriller in the MTN Premier League game billed for Mavuso Sports Centre for this afternoon.

The Manzini-based side will be looking to return to winning ways after having lost their last three games in the league. Sundowns have suffered defeats in the past three games at the hands of Moneni Pirates, twice and an improving Manzini Wanderers. Kappa Kappa under the tutelage of experience coach Gcina Dlamini, who started his reign with three wins, has been finding it difficult in recent games. Currently, sitting on position eight after 14 MTN games, Sundowns need to switch on and start picking up points. Dlamini will bank his hopes from the experience of skipper Jimoh Moses, Siphamandl­a Maseko and Kwanele Dlamini who are key players for Ikappa kappa in the match.

Solutions

These players will be tasked in providing the solutions to the Manzini-based side.

Amathole’zinyathi will be looking to return to winning ways when they face the youthful Sundowns, who are capable of causing upset in their good days. The army side will look at reclaiming back the number one spot in the league that they have been comfortabl­e occupying, but later have seen them being dislodge by Ernest Mavuso’s Green Mamba. The latter are now leading the pack with 31 points, just one above Buffaloes.

The Army side will be looking to unleash new signing in Njabulo Maziya who was signed from Madlenya FC and will be tasked with banging in the goals going forward. Another player, who will be making his debut is left back Vukile Khumalo, who had been signed to replace want out left back Kwakhe Thwala, who is allegedly on his way to join capital city giants, Mbabane Swallows. Players like Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze, Phiwa Dlamini and Bongwa Matsebula will be tasked with bringing all the points and make sure that the army side keep track of Green Mamba, who pose a threat in the contention of the league title.

This fixture on paper looks easy for Buffaloes, but the MTN Premier League has served the lovers of the beautiful game with many shocks this season, which makes today’s game one to watch.
