Beck on celebrates wildly after netting injury-time winner
LONDON – Romeo Beckham made it a Valentine’s Day to remember after scoring an injury-time winner in Brentford B’s Middlesex Senior Cup clash.
The son of England legend David Beckham came off the bench against Wealdstone to score his first goal for the Bees, a late header earning them a 3-2 victory on the night.
Brentford first-team star Frank Onyeka was one of the standout names on the team sheet at the start of the evening, but it was Beckham who stole the headlines by the end following his late goal. Onyeka and Tristan Crama had given Brentford B a two-goal advantage before Wealdstone struck twice, either side of half-time, to draw level at Grosvenor Vale. But, Beckham had the final say in the match as he popped up at the back-post to nod home in added time and ensure his side progressed into the next round.
The midfielder wheeled away in celebration, pumping his fists before being swarmed by his Brentford teammates.
There were no signs of father, David, in the stands on this occasion - despite the England legend being spotted at a number of Brentford B’s recent games.
Beckham Jnr joined the west London club on loan from MLS side Inter Miami during the January transfer window.
Since then, he’s made a number of appearances for the side including a substitute cameo during their 3-2 win over Aston Villa’s U-21 side.
Brentford B Manager Neil MacFarlane had spoken in praise of Beckham since his arrvial on loan , having previously trained with the Bees ahead of the switch from his dad’s MLS side Inter Miami.
