‘Sikhali’ ‘spears’ Mamba to the top
MBABANE – Brace hero and Sihlangu marksman Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa has driven Green Mamba to the summit of the charts.
The Correctional Services side beat Tambankulu Callies by 4-2 at their own backyard at Tambankulu Stadium, yesterday. This was during a catch-up MTN Premier League game that was postponed last Saturday due bad weather conditions.
Also on the scorers charts for the Correctional side were Njabulo Magagula and Mthunzi ‘Xavi’ Mkhontfo. Callies scored via winger Mazwi Sihlongonyane and Gabon new signee Maice Youngui. The win took Green Mamba to the top of the log with 34 points after 15 games.
Leapfrogged
They leapfrogged Young Buffaloes who are on 33 points.
Ndzinisa single-handedly gave Ernest Mavuso’s troops the massive win after netting the brace and providing an assist to the third goal. The former Mbabane Highlanders striker, who was the second top goal scorer last season with 23 goals, took his tally for the current campaign to nine goals.
He is third on the current scorers chart after Mbabane Swallows’ Felix Badenhorst (11 goals) and Young Buffaloes’ Njabulo Maziya (10 goals). Ndzinisa cancelled Callies’ Sihlongonyane 13th minute strike in the 18 th minute. Within 20 minutes the score was locked at 1-all draw. Njabulo Magagula gave the visitors the lead just three minutes before half-time before the hosts levelled matters a minute later to force the game to a 2-all draw at the break.
After resumption, it was Ndzinisa again nine minutes after the hour mark, scoring to make it 3-2 before ‘Xavi’ stretched the game out of Callies’ reach after an 83rd minute goal just when the hosts were trying to find an equaliser.
The Correctional side will lock horns with Manzini Sea Birds on Sunday at KaLanga Technical Centre. Kick-off time is 3pm. Callies will visit Denver Sundowns at Mayaluka Stadium on Saturday. Action gets underway at 3:30pm.
