MBABANE – Any team that will now refuse to play as a result of a lack of an ambulance in stadiums will face the music.

The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has made it clear that in such occurrences, any team that will be found guilty for refusing to play will be risking to forfeit the match and be fined up to E50 000.

This is in accordance with a memo that was released yesterday notifying teams that PLE has now reached an agreement with the 'epartment of Emergency Service to provide ambu lances during games.

“The PLE notes with great concern the prevalent abandonment of Premier League games purportedly on account of a Medical Rule that reTuires the presence of an Ambulance and Ad vanced Life Support paramedic at the stadium.

“The safety of players, officials and spectators is paramount in any games by the PLE and there can never be a reason to compromise on safety what ever the circumstances,” reads part of the memo.

Released

However, the memo released by PLE Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kenneth Makhanya, stressed that there could be instances where there might be no ambulances in the sta diums, but still they expected games to be played.

“Where an effort to secure an ambu lance has been made by the PLE Sec retariat and such effort fails due to the non availability of this scarce national resource, Premier League games will proceed and there will be no just reason to abandon PLE games.

“Each team should ensure that it has a vehicle available to evacuate any of its members that is referred to a hospital by the doctors at the stadium,” reads the memo.

The first match was a Premier League match between Madlenya and Man]ini Sea Birds which was called off after half time.

The other included a National )irst 'ivision (N)') game between 8bom bo )lyers and Milling Hot Spurs, which was abandoned after 70 minutes. Meanwhile, some games have also experienced delayed kick off as a result of visiting clubs refusing to play without the visibility of an ambulance.

The memo also stated that any team that will dare refuse to play shall be deemed to have caused the aban donment of the game.

Guilty

According to Article 7.22 of the MTN Rules and Regulations, any team that is found guilty of causing the abandonment of the game forfeits the match and shall be liable to a fine not less than E50 000.

In case there is no ambulance, both hosting and visiting clubs are expected to make means to avail a vehicle to evacuate any of its members who are referred to a hospital by the doctors at the stadium. They will be further re Tuired to ensure that their team doctors are in attendance and available from the time that the team arrives at the venue until the team leaves. 21'21 Chairman 'aniel Levy cannot rely on Harry Kane being surrounded by village idiots again when he tries to convince his star player to sign a new deal at Tottenham Hotspur.

The ineptitude of the decision mak ing from those representing Kane in trying to get him to Manchester City was laughable. It surely won’t be next time.

Levy has the blue chip stadium and the blue chip debt, now he must tweak the football proposition so the team become a tour de force and end the perception many fans have of him as the Ebene]er Scrooge of football.

Tottenham must take control of their available destiny, pursue suc cess and shape a better set of out comes than we’ve seen in recent years.

That must mean keeping Harry Kane and keeping Antonio Conte. Within reason, do whatever it takes. Whether that means creative, adjustable release clauses, phenomenal bonus es if and when Tottenham win things or whatever, they must ensure Kane remains.

It’s not a case of being unable to do the deal, it’s about having the will to make it happen.

Kane is the jewel in their crown. At this stage, and for the foreseeable future, he is irreplaceable.

Spurs cannot allow Premier League rivals to take advantage of all the work they have put in to help make Kane the player he is today.

Rigiculous

)orget Bayern Munich, a move there would be bloody ridiculous. That’s not a little Englander, 'am busters mentality, but it’s preposter ous to think a Bundesliga title would trump the possibility of winning something with the club where he has spent his whole career.

If Spurs do keep Kane and they do keep Conte, they can win something. Surely an )A Cup with Spurs would have greater value than a trophy in *ermany"

It sticks in my craw as a former owner but Levy at this stage of the club’s development, with this player and with this manager must give Kane pretty much whatever he wants. Exhaust every single avenue.
