SITEKI – KaLanga Chief, Jozane Maziya, has warned over 200 Lutsango regiment members to show respect in front of Their Majesties during the Buganu Ceremony, slated to start tomorrow at the Buhleni Royal Residence.

In his send-off address to the Lutsango members, the chief thanked the women for coming in numbers to prepare for the journey. He said this was an indication that they loved and respected their culture.

The chief said culture was a unifying symbol and true identity of emaSwati, adding that it was imperative that the Lutsango imparted their cultural values and norms, including respect, to their children.

He further emphasised that the Lutsango regiment should also uphold love and dignity for the duration of the ceremony.

Adding, the chief advised them that they should be the ‘mirror of the chiefdom’ and represent the KaLanga community with peace and respect.

Maziya also implored the regiment to be exemplary to the other members of Lutsango, who would join them during the ceremony.

“The chiefdom is for the people, as it is home for everyone. I am happy to see such huge numbers of the Lutsango and it is gratifying that you haven’t been missing such activities,” he said.

KaLanga Lutsango Indvuna Beauty Mkhwanazi said they had been summoned to get words of wisdom from the chief, ahead of their journey to Buhleni today. “We need to uphold respect and love and represent our chiefdom with dignity. Phezu Kwemkhono!,” she said.

The Lutsango yesterday feasted on their cow and two goats pledged by the chief last Saturday.
