Let’s wrap up the month of love

- BY MXOLISI DLAMINI

TTwins are two long time friends, who became friends at toddler stage as they lived at the same location in Ezulwini, and have been friends since.

Born Nkosenhle Dlamini and Nosimilo Dlamini, they do everything together due to the undying love they have for each other.

Our Gcwala team met and had a chat with the DJs to uncover more about their life as well as their career. As a starter, they were probed on what they find special about their relationship.

“We do everything together, we do have ups and downs like any duo, but as friends who became sisters it’s very easy for us to shrug off any misunderstanding we have or encounter,” said the DJs.

As a means of uncovering more about their career,

“We fell in love with being DJs in 2018, we used to be professional choreographers and dancers and we travelled the world because of that as we have been to the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Nigeria, South Africa and a lot of countries, but then we met our mentor DJ Xtra Luv who then taught us how to be DJs as we used to be back-up dancers for as a day of expressing love between family and friends. artists and DJs.

“He really inspired us and he took his time and taught us how to be professional DJs and how to handle ourselves when out there.

“He taught us all the basics we needed and he also let us use his equipment anytime we wanted to practise, and also supported us in every gig we’d go to,” the DJs said.

“We were already working in the line of music as we were choreographers and dancers, so that goes along with music, so the love of music came in way back and at school we used to be leaders in drummies, Kwaito dance as well as military dance, everything we did aligned with music,” Trend Twins added.

They went on to reveal how they prepared themselves for a show when booked.

“For every event we are booked at we plan our sets very well and also practice. Since we were signed by Melting C Events in 2022, we have been gigging none stop and in high demand events, so our practice has increased and also track selection has to be very unique. But sometimes we do change and play any song when we feel the crowds mood.

“If we are booked for an event we usually prepare for a day or two on the decks and also download music, listen to the song together then we get CDJs and practice together for the whole day, we also learn new tricks.

“If the booking says full team, which includes the Djembe Drum plater, dancers, we then move to practice dance rou

their love.

Lovers, friends and families gathered in some of the prominent venues locally to celebrate their love as well as Valentine’s Day generally.

Some of the places I was privileged to visit this Valentine’s Day include The George Hotel, Happy Valley Hotel, iF’s Lounge Restaurant and Bar as well as Mantenga View Boutique Hotel.

I must say that all these venues pulled quite some weight to make their Valentine’s Day dinners a success as well as to produce an appealing ambience for lovers while enjoying themselves in their venues. Enough has been said already, let’s get right to these moments.
