The colour of my skin

-

Madam,

The colour of my skin should not determine my standing in society. , should not be judged by my pigmentation but by my role in the upliftment of those around me and the value , add to my community. The colour of my skin should not be a bridge as to how far , can go and how much , can say; instead , should be allowed to be me and feel free to express my views, opinions and ecstasy without fear of reprisal.

, should not be subjected to intense interrogation merely for the marks on my face or colour of my hair. My hair is an expression of my inner being and should not be a matter of discussion for , shall wear it however , want. My hair is my creativity coming into play and whether , braid it, twist it, curl it, cut it or dye it should be none of your concern.

SUBJECT

$nd yes, , am proud of my skin and the way , come across should not subject you to harassing me for , am being me without asking for anyone’s permission. , am free to be me whether you like it or not and , will continue to be me in the face of adversity, discrimination, stereotypical mindsets, racism, sexism and what have you., will rise above poverty because the colour of my skin does not subject me to a life of mediocrity; , will continue to reach for my dreams for they

do not stigmatise against my conscience or the power of my subconscious mind. , will give to the nations copious amounts of wisdom for there is truth in religion, which touches every shade of skin.

/ike Martin /uther .ing said; let us dream, that we shall not be judged by the colour of our skin but by the strength of our character. :hen the stick lashes against my skin , will rise up, not because , do not need guidance, but because , take pride in my skin’s colour and suppleness. , do want to be a roadmap of torment and abuse; to be an outlet for your frustration; , have just about every right to live on this earth as you for , am *od’s most precious creation.

Do not take my pride or steal my joy by looking at my skin but open my heart, see my thoughts and breathe life with me for ‘the faintest ink is more powerful than the sharpest memory’ and as such, our trail should lead a path to prosperity and wealth, not hatred and strife; knowledge and wisdom, not war and famine. Rise up with me and let us set off on a journey to self-discovery; let us take pride in who we are by looking into ourselves and not those next to us. /et us be proud of our roots such that the next generation do and feel the same. /et us pray for our actions not to reflect the colour of our skin and that in the event of our death, people reflect on true and worthy ideals.
