(5621$//<, , am great with short term goals. ,n fact, , prefer them as , love working so hard for a few months to achieve a certain goal.

'espite this preference for imme diate gratification, , have followed through with many long term goals in my life. like many of us, , have noticed a pattern of finding it much more difficult to stay engaged once the initial e[citement of starting something new has worn off.

Through this learning process of motivating myself to follow through with longer view goals, , have come up with a way that has really helped me to stay focused and on track. ,t sometimes feel so challenging but , always push myself to try.

, would share with you the nug gets on how , always push myself through. 2ften there are loads of reasons we get off track with goals. 6elf doubt, fear we won¶t succeed, and concern that we are not setting realistic goals are Must a few of them. But what is impor tant to remember is that you can change this goal if you want.

, find it helps to remind yourself that you are in charge. 0any times, when the going gets tough, we begin to feel like the choices we made sometimes long ago are not our own. 6ometimes a reminder to ourselves that we are the ones who originally set this goal is a good way to keep going no matter what.

To really follow through with a longer term goal, we must have solid reasons that make sense to us. That said, goals aren¶t set in stone. /ike everything in life, it¶s good to approach them with fle[ibility and open mindedness.

,f you can¶t successfully remind yourself of your initial reasons for going for the goal, and get re ig nited about those reasons, then it might be time to re assess. 2nly we can decide what is best for us, and that can change over time.

,t¶s so important to give our selves permission to go for goals with full on focus and gusto, or to change them, or put them aside for a while, or whatever else we decide is right at that time.

PERCEPTION & CONFIDENCE

:hat , also learnt is that percep tion is everything when it comes to maintaining willpower. ,t will make or break your chances of success. A recent study , read about is one that was conducted by 6tan ford University, it discovered that if you believe you have unlimited
