MBABANE - Two brothers engaged in a nasty fight after one accused the other of selling their mother’s land without permission from the owner.

The incident happened at Baha’i, an area that has recently been added into the urban boundary of Mbabane. Information gathered was to the effect that the two sons, Colani and Simanga Dlamini engaged in a fight, where they hacked each other with bush knives over the alleged sold piece of land. It is said that the fight ensued after Colani accused Simanga of selling the piece of land along with a community police member of the area. It has been gathered that the fight between the two sons created enmity, resulting in Colani vacating his parental homestead.

Hacking

This transpired at the Mbabane Magistrates Court, where Colani appeared charged with hacking Simangar. Testifying against his brother, Simanga told the court that Colani attacked him while he was enjoying alcoholic beverages at a certain Mamba homestead. He stated that his brother attacked him a few minutes after he had stopped him from fighting another patron at the drinking spot. “Our relationship turned sour even after I had forgiven him in the first (assault) incident. It was bad so much that we sometimes passed without greeting each other,” he submitted. He further told the court that he sustained severe injuries in the head as a result of the hacking.

The duo’s mother was listening to his sons as they grilled each other before court. The matter was adjourned for March 3, 2023 for continuation.

Colani was remanded in custody as his mother left returned home with Simanga.
