Top-ranked Melusi new JKA leader
MANZINI – Well-known instructor Sensei Melusi Dlamini has been elected to lead the Eswatini-based Japanese Karate Association (JKA).
JKA has finally chose their members who will revive the association during an elective congress at Jubilee Park in Manzini on Saturday.
Newly-elected President Dlamini is Fourth Dan Black Belt instructor. The Dan ranking system is used by many Japanese, Okinawan, Korean and other martial art organisations to indicate the level of a person’s ability within a given system. Used as a ranking system to quantify skill level in a specific domain, Fourth – Sixth Dan are considered to be instructors/masters.
Dlamini shared that the JKA would then move forward to introduce the executive to the Board of the sport, Eswatini Karate Federation (EKF).

the elected executive members who were chosen by the association were former students who could help push the martial art to a better and positive direction. “What I got from the elected members was that each and every one of them has promised to work with dedication to uplift the style of JKA in Eswatini,” said the president.
The association plans to achieve its goals from the last calendar, where they had a few outstanding activities. These activities were grading for juniors and seniors, refereeing classes to be held in South Africa (SA) and a coaching course that is to be attended by all black belts.
