LOS ANGELES - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took the phrase ‘keep calm and carry on’ to new levels when they stepped out for a date night at an exclusive US$4 200 a year private members club in Los Angeles - even as reports surfaced that they are being ‘evicted’ from their UK home by King Charles.
While a friend of the couple claimed they had been left furious over what they see as a ‘cruel punishment’ at the hands of Harry’s father, the Sussexes couldn’t have looked happier when they were pictured arriving at the lavish San Vicente Bungalows on Tuesday night, when they were both seen grinning from ear-to-ear as they made their way inside the ultra-private venue.
Meghan (41), beamed as she made her way out of the couple’s chauffeured SUV, looking chic in a beige US$1 610 Carolina Herrera cape coat, which she accessorised with a pair of black US$625 Christian Dior high heels, as well as a small black leather clutch bag, also from Dior.
Escorted
She grinned happily while being escorted inside the Bungalows by a burly security guard, who held an umbrella over Meghan’s head as she exited the Sussexes’ vehicle behind her husband, who looked casual in a pair of dark-wash jeans, navy sneakers, a navy sweater and a gray tweed blazer.
Harry was the first to clamber out of the car, but was closely followed by his wife and a female friend, who was seated beside Meghan in the backseat of the vehicle.
As they made their way into the Bungalows - a venue that has become one of the biggest celebrity hotspots in LA, having played host to everyone from Sandra Bullock and Kirsten Dunst to Kaia Gerber and Hailey Bieber - they were joined at the entrance by several friends, one of whom Harry was seen clapping on the back before making his way inside.
Their incredibly upbeat demeanor is somewhat at odds with the reports that had surfaced just moments before their arrival in which it was claimed that Meghan and Harry were being evicted from Frogmore Cottage - their only home in the UK - by King Charles.
NEW YORK - Elon Musk presented a heady vision Wednesday to turbocharge Tesla’s growth at an investor day filled with ambitious targets but short on details sought by Wall Street.
Reviewing the company’s quickly expanding electric vehicle (EV) production, Musk and a team of executives promised more outsized growth through streamlined manufacturing processes, smart design and a relentless focus on costs.
“There is a clear path to a fully sustainable Earth with abundance,” Musk said early in the presentation, at which the company set annual production of 20 million vehicles as an eventual aspiration.

But shares fell throughout the event as Musk and his team avoided specifics on what the next generation of vehicles would look like, or when they might be ready.
“Long on aspiration, short on detail,” Gary Black of the investment advisor organization Future Fund said on Twitter.
“Lot of discussion on production and engineering but didn’t address demand side how to get from 1.8M (deliveries) this year to 20M (delivery) target by 2030.”
