The unbelievable weather protest

-

GAZI, some things happening in local football are hard to believe. In the past week, the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) ordered a replay for the game between Madlenya and Manzini Sea Birds, which was abandoned due to the unavailability of paramedics and an ambulance back in

February. Just when everyone expected the matter to be decided by the Eswatini Football Association’s (EFA) Disciplinary Commitee, the PLE ruled that the teams should play the remainder of the game (second half), much against the rules. Despite a complaint, Sea Birds who were trailing 0-2 before the replay honoured the fixture. While a protest over the decision to replay the fixture was expected Gazi, what eventually transpired turned out to be a mockery.

It did not end from protesting about the decision to replay the fixture, as Sea Birds further challenged the decision by Madlenya to parade a changed

side. Wait, they expected marksman Njabulo Maziya who was sold to Young Buffaloes after the initial fixture to feature in the game.

Then the most dramatic moment followed. Sea Birds further challenged that in the first game it rained while in the replay it was bright and sunny – lol, it’s an unbelievable one but yah kumatima kulelakitsi. Then Madlenya also lodged a protest

of their own, claiming that two of Sea Birds’ players had no playing cards. Captain Sethu Ngcamphalala refused to sign the protest of Sea Birds, on grounds that it was prepared at home.

This is an interesting one for the match officials who will prepare the reports. Gazi sitayicela ivutsiwe. This is one classic case which might set an interesting precedent.
