RICHARD’S BAY, SOUTH AFRICA Archbishop Bhekibandla Vilakati, one of the leaders of the Red Gown Sect members, says he will never dictate to the church members.

The archbishop said following the words from his mother that he should lead the church with respect, he would pray to the Lord to make him stronger and stick to the mandate he got from his mother – that he should respect the church, not to speak highly of himself and let the church lift him.

In that regard, he challenged the church members to scrutinise things he would say and do. He said the church should always evaluate if the things he said or did qualified him to be their leader or not.

On the other hand, the archbishop said they needed to renew the covenant of the Lord. He said as he celebrates his 44th Birthday, he committed himself to lead the church towards reviving the covenant of the Lord.

Covenant

In that regard, he warned them that they were not there (cleansing ceremony) to brag with numbers, but to renew their covenant with the Lord.

He said when they attended such ceremonies, they should not bring people who were already living under the light of the Lord, but should come with people who were not under the grace of the Almighty. He said as they renew their covenant with the Lord, they should make people repent and live under the light of the Almighty.

On another note, he said as his history, from how he was born, was narrated, his body felt cold. He said while growing up, he was called by any name which included, Bheki, Bhekitje, Bhekilanga, Bhekithemba and later on, Bhekibandla. He said the secret of the name Bhekibandla was that his father talked about it when the country’s then Prime Minister (PM), Mabandla Dlamini, told those who were closer to him that they should remember the name by the PM - Mabandla Bhekibandla.
