MBABANE – South African (SA) musician Lindough has advised the youth to shy away from abortion, because a child is a blessing from God.

Born Lindo Sithole popularly known by his stage name Lindough, made this statement during an interview he had with this publication after his performance at Ekhayeni Chillaz on Saturday. He was a headliner of the ‘Propaganda Friday’ show which was made possible by Blacknet and Creamy Events entertainment stables, to welcome University of Eswatini (UNESWA) students back on campus. The SA artist said, “Forget abortion, a child is a blessing and I am saying this because I have experience.

Money

‘‘When I found out that I was going to be a dad, my mindset changed immediately. The way I spend money changed, so now I am an adult. I know that if I get 20k I know that I have to spend wisely in paying school fees, buying food as well as getting clothes for my son.

I do all this because my child is a blessing to me, this is because there are people who love me just because I am raising my son, that on its own is truly a blessing,” Lindough shared.

He further gave advice to young people narrating that they should do what they love.

“Do what you like, if you want to study just study, if you are a teacher go and do your job. It is not easy out there, life is very hard right now, have faith and believe in yourself. I believe in prayer and if you believe in prayer ensure you pray without stopping, if you are using umuthi, use it and believe in it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you cannot do it. People who are successful take risks, they are not afraid to take risks they have been told that they will not make it, but they made it anyway,” the artist said. He also shared that being a good father for Valdo opened doors for him in his career especially getting the opportunity to host a reality show on SABC 2 called ‘Raising babies’. “This opened more doors for me from campaigns and corporate gigs. Raising babies is one of the shows where I have also learnt a lot as a parent since that show teaches us on how to become better parents. It further teaches us how to co-parent with our baby mamas, as well as helping us on how to grow children.

Disregard

‘‘We once had a psychologist on the show and she said to me do you know why abantwana batichamela loosely translated to (why do children urinate in bed)? I said no I don’t know, because as black people if that happens we disregard them, but no that is not the way. We have to understand that they are just children and need to be taken care of, we need such shows to empower more people and become better versions of themselves,” Lindough said.

He rose to fame after inspiring many people with parenting, where he would share pictures and videos of him with his son named Valdo. From when he was one year-old, Lindough has been posting pictures of him on Instagram. He also once posted a picture of him and his son performing together; it went viral immediately, earning his son near instant fame.

Following the release of the video, Lindough went public and stated that people had reached out to him from around the world, letting him know the video not only inspired them, but encouraged them to be better parents. Drawing his inspiration from his parenting experience.
