Kusekhaya go strong for SA tour

MBABANE - Kusekhaya Cycling Club has released the list of cyclists who will be representi­ng the club in one of the biggest races in the continent and world.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour is an annual race that is hosted in the city of Cape Town and attracts over 35 000 cyclists from all over the world, making it the largest individual­ly timed cycling race in the world.

Kusekhaya Team Principal Mduduzi Kaudi confirmed the latest developmen­ts.

“We as Kusekhaya Cycling are proud to announce our squad of seven athletes who will represent the brand in the prestigiou­s internatio­nal race in South Africa. The athletes have been working hard since the start of the year, preparing physically and mentally for the race,” said Kaudi.

He said the team was excited and proud that for this race, women formed the majority in the compositio­n of the travelling team.

“The participat­ion of women in the sport remains one of our goals and we trust that the continued efforts and activities by the club will inspire other women to take up the sport, not only recreation­ally

Kaudi revealed that the race would take place on Sunday and they were expecting the team to be settled in Cape Town on Saturday and ready to take to the road.

“We expect them back in the kingdom on Monday. March is one of the busiest months for our cyclists, as we have the Sisekelo MTB race, Cosmos 3-in-1 as well as Emperors Classic,” he added.

He also wished all emaSwati cyclists taking part in the Cape Cycle Tour the best of luck.
