Meat wholesale to slaughter 2 000 cows a day

- BY PHIWASE PHUNGWAYO

MATSAPHA - A massive meat wholesale business will be launched in Manzini, where about 2 000 cows are projected to be slaughtered in a day.

This was revealed by African Alliance Partner S’thofeni Ginindza, who shared that this would be one of the biggest developments under the African Alliance Group. He said the business would be launched in two months time. Ginindza revealed this during the launch of Pick n Pay Liquor Wholesale in Matsapha yesterday.

Partnership

As it were, the wholesale, which is a result of a partnership between African Alliance and Lojaf, has an inventory of about E12 million. It occupies about 3 000 square metres.

Meanwhile, making his remarks during the launch, Ginindza alluded to that they were looking forward to a lot of initiatives, the liquor wholesale being one of them. He said among the initiatives was Pick n Pay Lojaf in Matspha Link, including offices that were housing all their various units, including KFC.

Venturing

He further mentioned that they were also venturing into property, which was known to be at the Malkerns Square and Matsapha Link.

“In two months’ time, we are starting another big development in Manzini. Everyone knows that when you have your whiskey, or your wine, there has to be some meat. We are also looking into a massive meat business where we expect to slaughter about 2 000 cows in a day- that’s how big we are going to be,” Ginindza hinted.

Regarding the liquor wholesale outlet, Ginindza mentioned that 20 people had already been employed and more were yet to be hired.

He added that the Lojaf brand prided itself in having more local brands and encouraged locals to take advantage of this.

Meanwhile, he stated that they were in a capitalist society. Ginindza added that the best people, who did best practice, were those with ethics of good prices. Ginindza assured that the wholesale would be offering the best prices. “As a wholesale, we are here to make sure we deliver better, efficiently and best prices. But we will not be able to do that without you, so to the vendors and suppliers, thank you for making this possible. We expect this marriage to go on and on,” he said.

Ginindza also extended accolades to the Lojaf team for putting together everything for the launch and commended the good service they provided.

He advised customers to report in any event that quality service was not provided.

On another note, he pointed out that besides their global South African supplier, they were seeing a lot of local production, which he highly commended. Ginindza mentioned that when the King pronounced First World, he was not saying that there should be big structures but meant a mindset shift.

“So when locals come up with things such as gin and tonic, that’s globally competitive,” he quipped.
