MBABANE – Tambankulu Callie’s former coach, Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini has refuted claims made by Director Sithembiso ‘Ngudze’ Mamba that he was fired because of bad performance.

The most travelled mentor, said it was not true that he had crossed swords with Coach Vusisizwe Mahlalela who was his assistant at Callies like it was alleged by Mamba previously in an interview.

Mamba also said ‘Ace’s contract was terminated following a run of poor performance.

“I came at the club and won against a Tambuti side that has not been easy to play against. I drew against Royal Leopard and Denver Sundowns: Where is the bad performance that ‘Ngudze’ is talking about. When we lost against Nsingizini Hotspurs, Mamba was coaching the team himself. In the game against Moneni Pirates, I was not there and in some other MTN Premier League games; Mamba would coach while I was there,” he said.

Performance

The former Young Buffaloes first elite league title winning coach who had rejoined the sugar belt side three months ago as the club’s head coach until the end of the season, revealed that bad performance was caused by behaviour and the conduct of officials. “I’m not going to revenge against what ‘Ngudze’ has publicly said about me in the media, citing things which are not true. I have never fought with Mahlalela in the team and what ‘Ngudze’ has accused me of really hurt me,” he lamented.

The coach said he did not wish to see Tambankulu Callies getting relegated at the end of the season. “I wish the club the best of luck for the rest of the season. I don’t blame the director for what he said about me in the media. I know very well that in life you don’t burn your bridges,” he said.

The most travelled mentor has coached teams such as Moneni Pirates, Young Buffaloes, and Mbabane Swallows among others. BoBhejane, as Callies are fondly known, are currently 13th in the MTN Premier League log standings with only two wins, seven draws and 10 losses this season.
