Man City’s Haaland wants Champions League medal
MBABANE – Capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders has refuted the salary cuts allegations in the team.
According to an insider in the team, there have been up to E5 000 salary deductions from some members of the team. The deduction was reported to have been suffered by Coach Solly Luvhengo and some players. According to a well-placed source within the Bull’s camp, the South African-born coach was alleged to have his salary slashed by up to E5 000. Meanwhile, it was said some players had deductions of about E1 500 in their February payment.
Meanwhile, Highlanders Coach Luvhengo, when sought for comment on this issue, dismissed the reports and said he was well-taken care off at the Bull’s camp.
“There is no such thing pertaining to my salary. Salary remains a secret between me and the MD. My salary was according to the agreements between me and him. There is no possibility of such happening because I’m also well taken care off at the team since I arrived. Even on Sunday after the game, we had a chat with him,’’ said Luvhengo.
Tarnish
The club Managing Director (MD), Ally Kgomongwe also concurred with his coach labeling such reports as sponsored news meant to tarnish the team’s image and destabilise it.
“You can ask any player;all their salaries were paid in full. I’m impressed by the team, the coach as well as the players, so why would I reduce their payment. Those are news aimed by to harm the team by people with certain agendas. Everything is just normal at the team and I’m impressed,” said the MD.
Kgomongwe has been in the country since the past weekend to watch his team when they took on Green Mamba last Sunday.
Meanwhile, the last time there was a salary cut within the Bull’s camp was early this year where there were up to E3 500 deductions. Some of the players had their salaries cut by minimum of E500 for skipping training immediately after the Christmas break.
