‘Mum smokes dagga, wants

- BY KWANELE DLAMINI

MBABANE – Businessman Sean Blignaut, who was accused by his mother of doing drugs, alleges that it is actually his mother who smokes dagga.

He also alleged that she wanted to exclude him from his late father’s E46 million estate.

Sean alleged that his mother, Moira Blignaut, was unable to count or understand numbers, and this risked their company, Busi Quip (Pty) Ltd, of being defrauded if he was not around.

Moira is the Director of Busi Quip (Pty) Ltd. Sean said he held 49 per cent shares in the company, but had since discovered that in the Form J, he was reflected as having resigned as a shareholder, a development he was not aware of.

Experience

“My mother (applicant) has no business acumen and experience as she has always been a housewife throughout her life while I developed Busi Quip (Pty) Ltd with my late father to what it currently is.

“I cannot, therefore, allow my 49 per cent interest in the company to be depleted in my presence as that would de-value the company to my prejudice as a director and shareholder. The applicant (Moira) is totally illiterate and has no capacity to run a company of that magnitude,” submitted Sean.

The veracity of these allegations is still to be tested in court. Sean is represented by Lawyer Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli of Bongani G. Mdluli and Associates.

Sean said for instance, because of Moira’s alleged illiteracy, she was recently defrauded in a USA Facebook/WhatsApp scam, an amount of E700 000 she had withdrawn from the company. He said the money was never recovered by the company, even though she later unlawfully used his late father’s life policies to replace it.

Sean told the court that this showed how his mother was allegedly reckless with money-handling and she could not be alone in the running of Busi Quip (Pty) Ltd.

“I have always been in charge of the company and applicant has never run the company in her entire life. She cannot even count or understand numbers.

“I have always had a good relationship with the employees and they all want me to return to save their jobs, as the company is currently directionless in the hands of the applicant and she is being assisted by individuals who are taking advantage of her illiteracy and they siphon money from her,” Sean alleged.

As a result, he said the prayers in which Moira sought to interdict him and his girlfriend Londi Matsenjwa from entering part of Nkonyeni Golf Estate and Busi Quip premises were defective as they were vague and without any reasonable precision.

He wondered how one could be interdicted from their property where they were a beneficiary and also from their own business where they were a shareholder and director. Sean submitted that his mother sought to secure
