Education system dysfunctional

2ur country is facing challenges almost on all fronts. It¶s a wellknown fact that a maMority of the kingdom¶s problems are caused by our ineffective government.

Their failure to lead has proven to be catastrophic in all areas. There is seemingly no political will to even lift a finger to solve our problems.

Upon assuming office, public officials are obligated to fulfill the duties of those offices and meet the expectations of the people they are supposed to serve. Their stay in office is contingent on the good service they provide to their citi]ens.

Their fat salaries and perks that they receive should be motivating factors for them to work hard and to improve the quality of life for all.

Revitalise

*overnment is willing to spend huge sums of money on proMects which will not revitalise our economy, but which are luxurious. Public officials thrive in the mismanagement of public funds. -ust around the corner, our education system is dysfunctional with free primary education and our maMor tertiary institution in a mess.

Teachers are not employed on a permanent basis despite possessing the necessary qualifications because government claims it does not have sufficient funds. In addition, it has become a norm for government to treat tertiary students with contempt by paying their allowances when it is convenient for it.

It even went to the extent of dropping a bombshell by stating that it is planning on eliminating scholarships and children who wish to enroll in tertiary institutions will have to apply for financial aid through banks and private financial institutions. This no doubt painted a bleak future for future generations.

At the other corner is our healthcare system, which is an absolute mess. There are no medicines in our country¶s health facilities such that high-ranking public officials rush to 6outh African hospitals for better treatment. There has been no salary review despite the high inflation rate. )uel prices, food, bread, electricity have all skyrocketed without any help from government to stem the tide. Then the question is Is this government actually serving the people?

Improve

In my opinion, in the years that this government has been in office, it has done little to improve our lives, but rather it has ensured that ema6wati lost their lives and livelihoods. It seems to me that they are here to impoverish, enslave and punish the nation while their fat salaries and perks ensure that they live a luxurious life. If I had my way, this government would resign en masse because it has failed this nation.
