MBABANE – Elite sides Moneni Pirates and rookies Nsinginzini Hotspurs’ youngsters are set to leave for Italy today.

The duo; Pirates’ Sizwe ‘Yeki’ Khumalo and Nsingizini’s Mayibongwe ‘Suarez’ Mabuza, will be attending a three-week assessment in Italy’s San Marco Sports Events Academy. It has been reliably gathered that their trip will be catered for by the academy. The players are expected to be attached in the academy if they are successful in their assessments. They are expected to add to a list of some juniors who are already attached in football academies outside the country including abroad.

The most recent move was that of Tommy Morgan who joined the Malaga City Academy programme in Spain and scored in his debut game for the club. Moreover, Yeboah Football Academy from Dubai has been also said to be arranging a move for Mhlengi Fakudze to FC Energetik-BGU Minsk from Belarus. The players’ parent teams Public Relations Officers (PRO) Mbuso Hlophe and Mnotfo Dlamini confirmed that the duo is expected to be leaving for Italy today.

“I would like to congratulate the Yeki and the team for being recognised internationally. Special thanks go to the hands that groomed the player. Let him remain humble to the people who would be around him and to his talent as well. He must keep his discipline and talent will show, as talent without discipline is not rewarding,” said Hlophe.

Khumalo who is also a national Under-20 player who had his talent win Mamelodi Sundowns’ legend Esrom Nyandoro’s heart. Nyandoro was in the country last year in October as a player scout during the

Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Youth Championships staged in the country. Meanwhile, Suarez is a former Mhlatane High School team player and he also is a product of the CABANA Hhohho Youth Development.
