Ministry of Health donates to ESSA
MBABANE – The Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA) has received some donation from the Ministry of Health towards its national athletics showpiece set for next week.
ESSA will on Wednesday at Mavuso Sports Centre stage the high schools’ national athletics championships. On Friday, it saw the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) under the ministry donating some items that the association will reward some of excelling and record breaking athletes on the day. However, this will be some addition to some of the prizes ESSA will give out to winners, which are medals for first, second and third place.

In the spirit to promote male circumcision in schools, VMMCV donated jackets, beanies, caps, pens, pencils and rulers for participants and winners.
These items were presented to the association yesterday morning at Mater Dolorosa High (MDS) School Hall. VMMC Communications Officer Sabelo Mlambo presented the donation to ESSA Secretary Felicity Dlamini and its Treasurer Lucky Dlamini.
SERVE AS MOTIVATION
Meanwhile, the treasurer believed that these items would serve as motivation to the pupils, while also helping them promote health living in schools.

Again, the visibility of VMMC during our event on the day will further assist us promote health among pupils such as to circumcise, it gives them some protection against some certain diseases,” Dlamini stated.
VMMC will be promoting the circumcision of male pupils aged 15 and above. Meanwhile, all school runners-up are guaranteed a pen, pencil and ruler. However, it will be exceptional performance that will earn some selected winners of certain categories getting a jacket while some runners-up and third placed winners will get beanies and caps, respectively.
