Kwanele beats Sihawu to win Sisekelo MTB Cycle
BIG BEND ± 4eva Cycling Club’s .wanele -ele beat defending champion Sihawu 'lamini to win this year’s edition of the Sisekelo MTB Cycle Challenge.
The race, which attracted over 80 riders, started and finished at Sisekelo +igh School yesterday.
-ele, who confessed that it was the first time doing a mountain bike race, raced to the top beating mountain bike specialist 'lamini to win the race in 2:51:06 hours.
'lamini came second with a time of 2:51:10 hours, while Makepeace Bailey clocked 3:03:00 hours to complete the top three.
-ele said he was happy to have won the competition.
GAVE ME A HARD TIME
³It was not easy as my competitor Sihawu 'lamini gave me a hard time during the start of the race, however, as we raced toward the finish line, I upped the pace and he ran out of steam because he was tired and could not keep up with me,´-ele said.
+e went on to thank Mormond (lectrical Contractors Chief ([ecutive 2fficer (C(2) -ohn Thomson for gifting him with a new mountain bike.

+e said he would do more of MTB races because he had a bicycle for mountain bike.
Meanwhile, the runner-up said he was happy for -ele.
³I had not trained for a while so I could not keep up with -ele. It was an enjoyable race, for me it was about training more than competing,´ 'lamini said.
The shining star in the 30km was Malik McNamara who clocked 1:31 hours while coming second was Ntsika Manyatsi on 1:46 hours with Philani Msibi clocking 2:00:35 hours to complete the top three.
