‘Birds’ juniors ‘fly’ with Brand Active title

These are Mbabane Swallows Under-15s and 17s, who were crowned champions of the pre-season juniors’ tournament sponsored by Brand Active. The pre-season tournament was played at Msunduza Sports Ground on Saturday and it was watched by over 400 supporters. The tournament was graced by the presence of former Secretary to Cabinet, who is the Managing Director (MD) of Brand Active Esau Dlamini and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Executive Member Charles Matsebula, among others.

The Umkhonto KaShaka Under-15 team were too good for the Isaac Sihlongony­ane-coached Hurricane Under-15s, as they beat them 2-0 in the finals. In the Under-17s category, the Swallows juniors faced off with Royal Leopard in an entertaini­ng final, which saw the red and white capital city giants’ juniors winning the match 5-4 to go away with the crown.

Meanwhile, Ingwe Mabalabala Under-13s and19s were crowned the champions in both these categories. Royal Leopard beat Swallows 4-3 to walk away with the crown, while the Leopard Under-19s beat Sivutsa to be crowned the champions in this category.

The Brand Active MD expressed his joy to see the massive support from the spectators who watched the games and said as a company they appreciate­d the support. He was quoted on Thursday in the media briefing, which was held at Sigwaca House saying they would continue sponsoring the pre-season developmen­t games.
